Office Renovation - Full Design & Build Service

Prahran, VIC

A complete transformation of a former hair salon into a vibrant, flexible office for a growing creative media agency. This project balances brand expression, functionality and a sense of play — creating a workplace that supports collaboration, client engagement and team wellbeing.

The Brief

The client expanded into the ground-floor tenancy below their existing office, requiring the space to be fully reimagined for a larger team. The design needed to reflect the agency’s creative, energetic culture while remaining professional and welcoming for clients. A key part of the brief was to acknowledge the space’s former life as a hair salon, incorporating subtle references to its past while aligning with the company’s brand colours, values and future growth.

The Process

— Full strip-out of the existing salon to create a flexible, open-plan workspace

— Spatial planning for 12–15 staff, balancing focused work, collaboration and client interaction

— Design and construction of a new private meeting and presentation room

— Creation of multiple work zones, including desks, lounge areas and informal meeting spaces

— Integration of flexible partitions using a custom curved sheer curtain divider

— Restoration and refinishing of the original timber floor to lighten and warm the space

— Coordination of new electrical and plumbing services within existing constraints

— Custom furniture, lighting, artwork and neon features designed to reflect brand identity

— Full build, installation, styling and final handover

The Result

A warm, energetic and highly adaptable workplace that feels distinctly creative yet polished. Layered materials, considered lighting and bold but balanced colour choices bring the brand to life, while clever zoning supports different ways of working throughout the day. Reused elements from the original salon sit alongside bespoke joinery, custom furniture and feature lighting, creating a space that feels both playful and purposeful. The finished office has become a highly sought-after place to work — motivating, collaborative and a true reflection of the agency’s culture.
